Cargo volumes at Dubai World Central up sharply in Q1
Cargo volumes at Dubai World Central (DWC) have surged 382 per cent in the first three months of 2012, according to the quarterly traffic report issued by Dubai Airports on Wednesday. The airport, now only in its second full year of operation, recorded a 382.2 per cent increase in cargo volumes to 50,062 tonnes in the first quarter of the year, compared to 10,381 tonnes in the first three months of 2011.

Flydubai launches service to its 50th destination
Low-cost airline flydubai has announced that it has started flights to its 50th destination in less than three years since launching operations in 2009. The carrier reached the half century mark when its inaugural flight to Bishek in the Kyrgyz Republic landed at Bishkek International Airport this morning.
Passenger terminal to be ready by early 2012
Dubai’s new Al Maktoum International Airport is expected to open its passenger terminal early next year, according to Khalifa Al Zaffin, the executive chairman of Dubai World Central, or DWC. An investment of around Dh4 billion is expected to be made for Al Maktoum Airport and Dh26 billion for the expansion of Dubai International Airport by 2020, Al Zaffin told reporters on Sunday.

DDF on track to hit Dh5.3 billion sales in 2011
Dubai Duty Free said on Thursday it is on track to post an year-end sales value of an estimated Dh5.3 billion with its nine-month sales to the end of September rising 16.4 per cent to hit Dh3.78 billion compared to the same period in 2010.
Dubai airport records double-digit passenger growth
