ExecuJet plans move to DWC by 2013
Dubai Private jet operator ExecuJet Middle East is planning a move to Dubai World Central Al Maktoum International as early as next year but is waiting for the infrastructure at the new airport to be completed, according to the company’s top executive.

Dubai World Central handles 90,000 tonnes of cargo in 2011
The Dubai World Central airport handled 89,729 tonnes of air freight during its first full calendar year of operations last year, Dubai Airports said in a statement on Monday. The airport body owns and manages operations and development of the two Dubai airports – Dubai International and DWC.
UAE air traffic hits new heights despite turmoil
Air traffic movement in the UAE recorded a 7.6 per cent jump in 2011 over the previous year despite global challenges. The country’s airports reported steady increases in traffic during the year, according to data released by the Shaikh Zayed Air Navigation Centre.
Dubai Airport’s transfer Desk E closed Thursday
Dubai Airports, operators of Dubai’s two airports, said, transfer desk E at Dubai International Concourse 1 is closed Thursday as the result of damage caused by a faulty light fitting which caught fire late Wednesday night. The situation was quickly contained with no injuries or health issues reported.

Qatar Airways signs $6.5b deal with Airbus
The Doha-based carrier made an order for 50 of Airbus’ new generation A320neo (new engine option) aircraft with a further 30 on option, together with five additional A380 super-jumbos and three options for a total of 88 narrow- and wide-bodied aircraft.
