Low-cost airline flydubai has announced that it has started flights to its 50th destination in less than three years since launching operations in 2009. The Dubai World Central airport handled 89,729 tonnes of air freight during its first full calendar year of operations last year, Dubai Airports said in a statement on Monday. The airport body owns and manages operations and development of the two Dubai airports – Dubai International and DWC.

UAE air traffic hits new heights despite turmoil

Power outage at Dubai Airport Terminal 1
Dubai International Airport’s Terminal 1 went partially dark and several flights delayed following a power outage on Saturday evening. All flights departing from gates A B C and D at Terminal 1 were moved to gates E and F. There were long queues of passengers assembled at the two gates that were functional.
