Airport U hails Dubai Airports app launch
INTERNATIONAL. Airport mobile commerce company Airport U has hailed the launch of myDXB, the new mobile app that it developed for Dubai Airports. As reported, myDXB is a mobile application for Apple and Android devices designed to make navigating one of the world’s busiest and largest airports easier.
Power outage at Dubai Airport Terminal 1
Dubai International Airport’s Terminal 1 went partially dark and several flights delayed following a power outage on Saturday evening. All flights departing from gates A B C and D at Terminal 1 were moved to gates E and F. There were long queues of passengers assembled at the two gates that were functional.
Dubai planning world’s biggest airport
The emirate has announced plans to construct the largest passenger terminal on the planet, with five runways planned for the site. Named the Dubai World Central-Al Maktoum International, the site opened last June for cargo flights, but it is hoped it that passenger flights will begin there is 2013.
Flydubai to shift to Al Maktoum Airport
Flydubai will shift operations to Al Maktoum International Airport in Jebel Ali, according to Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Department of Civil Aviation and Chairman and Chief Executive Emirates Airline and Group.
Raytheon installs ATM System at new Al Maktoum Airport
Raytheon has completed delivery and installation of its latest generation AutoTrac III (AT3) air traffic management system at Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport, which is scheduled to open in 2012.
DEWA opens main substation for Al Maktoum airport
“The project aims to enhance the capacity of DEWA’s power transmission grids to Al Maktoum International Airport. In that regard, 132 KV ground cables were extended at the length of 12 kilometres to join the 11/132 KV main transformation substation Jebel Ali,” he added.
New substation for Al Maktoum Airport
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has launched a new 150 megavolt ampere main substation at Al Maktoum International Airport in Jebel Ali. Operated by the Dubai Airports Company, the substation is connected to DEWA’s power transmission grid to secure the every-growing demand for electricity in the area.
DEWA launches main substation for Al Maktoum Airport
As part of its relentless pursuit, DEWA launched a new main 132 KV substation of 150 Megavolt Ampere belonging Al Maktoum International Airport in Jebel Ali during the second quarter of this year. The new substation is connected to DEWA’s power transmission grid so as to secure the ever-growing demand for electricity for different purposes in the area.
