Emirates launches global sale slashing 25% fare

Emirates, one of the world’s fastest-growing international airlines, is celebrating the New Year by offering exceptional discounts on airfares to more than 100 cities, when booking from now until January 9, 2012. Customers can save up to 25 per cent off all published First Class, Business Class and Economy Class fares departing between 22 January and 30 June 2012, when travelling round-trip to any destination on Emirates’ extensive global network.

Dubai hotels 2011: Dubai hotel visitors up this year

Dubai’s hotels received 6.6 million guests in the first nine months of the year, up from more than 5.9 million between January and September last year, the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) said. Total revenue of the emirate’s hotels and hotel apartments increased by 19 per cent to Dh10.96 billion (US$2.98bn), according to the data.

Dubai hotels post biggest jump in occupancy in region

Hotel occupancy in Dubai witnessed a 10.5 percentage points increase in July 2011 year-on-year, the biggest such increase within the region, global consultancy Ernst & Young said in its Middle East Hotel Benchmark Survey. Occupancy in Dubai hotels rose to 80.8 per cent in July 2011, up from 70.3 per cent in July 2010.
